EWL: The One-and-Only, Stunningly Gorgeous Hannah

Last night was definitely bitter sweet. The final episode of each season brings both a huge amount of pride and gratitude, as well as a good dose of nostalgia and sadness. It’s hard to imagine that our time with these peeps has come to an end, but it’s also reassuring to know that they will always be a part of my life. I mean, seriously…I can’t go one single day without talking to at least one of my past EWL friends. FOR REAL. Had a nice long chat with Pearls this morning, and a good nice talk with John last night. These peeps aren’t just clients of ours…they truly do become friends—or dare I say family—along the way.

Now let’s talk about Miss Hannah. Oh, I just can’t say enough good about this woman. Love her dearly, and know she will be a part of our lives forever. You think she’s beautiful on the outside? Who she is on the inside is even MORE gorgeous. She is a wonderful friend, mentor, and human being in general. Getting a front row seat to Hannah’s journey as she battled her food addiction, conquered her demons, and bettered herself as a wife and future mother changed my life, as I am sure it did for many of you.

Hannah, my gorgeous friend, you are incredible, and I am so proud of everything you accomplished this year! Your sense of awareness is unlike anything I’ve ever seen. I know there is so much in store for you…this is only the beginning!

Yes, yes, I know. One hour with Hannah was not enough. Lucky for us (and you!) we have some behind-the-scenes with Hannah from after her finale to share today! Check out the video below:

Something that I’m always curious about when you choose women who want to get pregnant: does skin removal surgery affect that at all down the road? I know skin is still elastic but I guess I don’t really understand the process of that and how a pregnancy can play into it.

Really love your show! Watching you be so strong in your pregnancy last season really helped motivate me during this past year to work out while pregnant with my second.

Hi Cat: Great question! This is taken into consideration by the surgeons on the show so that the contestants will be able to reach their other goals in life too. And congrats on you pregnancy!

Hi. I have been curious as to what plan the contestants follow over the year. Do they do classic, turbo, etc., or does it depend on the person? Thanks:)

I have a calorie intake question. I’m trying to make sense of this calorie in energy out business. I’m trying to lose weight. I am supposed to consume 1400 calories / day to do this. I work out and burn 650 calories during the day. Do I still eat 1400 calories that day or do I eat 2050? In order to still lose?

    • Team Powell - September 10, 2015

Hi Stormie: You’ll consume those 1400 calories, and the calorie deficit you get from calories burned from working out and calories burned from normal body functions will add up to be your calorie deficit (calories consumed – calories burned = calorie deficit). Here’s another post that might help you better understand how this works: http://heidipowell.net/5366/all-about-calories/. We wish you the best!

  5. Jennifer Archer - September 9, 2015

Hi Heidi! This season of EWL was just awesome! It gets better all the time! Thank you for weekly inspiration and encouragement. I have been carb cycling and using Bode products for 6 months and have lost 50 pounds. I am still on the journey and am so thankful for people like you and Chris who have provided a framework for me to live healthy and gain healing mentally as well as physically. One of the other reasons I’m contacting you this way, the state of affairs with VEMMA. I did not want to post directly on your Facebook page due to the fact that I know you guys are tied to the company. I recently received an email that there is a restraining order and hold on the sale of products. I love my Bode shake and burn products and want to know if there is another way I can order. The website will not allow it and when I try to contact the company, I get dead ends. I also use the VEMMA nutrition for my two girls as well. I’m so disappointed and do not need to no details of your business affairs with them, just want to continue with products that I love and help me on my weight loss journey. I know you are so very busy, but would appreciate your thoughts or advice as to what I should do. I’m sure I’m not the only person with this problem. I’m sorry if I have not done enough research as to another way to get the products…I am a busy teacher and mom! Thank you again for all that you do! Love from Ohio, Jennifer Archer

  6. Mrs H - September 9, 2015

    Wow, just amazing!
This question is a bit unrelated, but do you have any tips or a sample fitness schedule for us “8 to 5” office desk workers? Getting a workout in around work and then home stuff is a challenge for me.
Thank you for all that you do!!

    • Team Powell - September 9, 2015

Hi Mrs H: The exercise part of Chris and Heidi’s program is totally doable for a busy schedule. Their 9-Minute Missions (strength training) takes only 9 minutes first thing in the morning, and then they recommend Shredders (cardio) for up to an hour some time during the day. You don’t even have to do the entire hour at one time. Here are links to both parts: http://heidipowell.net/9045/9-minute-missions/ and http://heidipowell.net/9058/shredders/. And you don’t need any equipment or gym membership either. It’s awesome!
