Gluten-Free Pasta Perfection

Okay, I can?t let this super-easy family favorite stay a secret for much longer. Time to share a meal we eat every single week, without fail. The best part is that it?s gluten-free AND healthy!

All you need:

1 Bag of Brown Rice Pasta (I buy mine at Trader Joes. If you can?t find it at a local grocer, try a Whole Foods)
1 lb Extra Lean Ground Beef
2/3 Jar Marinara Sauce (I use this amazing one from Trader Joes)
2 Small Bell Peppers, sliced into strips
1/2 Onion, sliced into strips

  1. Cook brown rice pasta according to instructions. The gluten-free pasta cooks near the same as regular pasta, but can have a film on it. To get rid of that, and to make sure the cooking doesn?t continue after draining, I always rinse my pasta with cold water. Makes it perfect!
  2. While pasta is cooking, brown the extra lean ground beef. A couple minutes into cooking, add the sliced bell peppers and onions. Saute until peppers are soft and meat is cooked.
  3. Reduce heat to low. Add marinara sauce to beef, peppers and onions. Simmer until pasta is complete.
  4. Combine pasta and beef mixture.
  5. Makes 8 servings?Enjoy!

  1. i don’t found this appealing . no fresh veggies or product ? why don’t you prioritize whole tomato or canned instead of process food ? …. not impress with the level of the “recipe” . no one know how to cook anymore ?

    1. Hi Allison: The recipe makes 8 servings, and the nutritional information is now in the post. ?

  2. This would definitely be for a high carb day. And going by the portion size chart I believe it would be 1 cup of noodles (one fist of carbs) and 1/2 cup of meat with sause (palm size of protein) and add a salad to complete the meal.

  3. Currently eating this RIGHT NOW! So so yummy!! Thanks for the recipe (: I used extra lean ground turkey instead, not the biggest beef fan 😉 and still so good!!

  4. It would be great if the recipes gave info relating to the carb cycling principles. We need a variety of recipes in order to sustain this lifestyle. HELP!!!!

  5. I use ground turkey and mushrooms (I don’t like unions). Will using mushrooms and oregano spice make it not gluten free?

    1. Your oregano spice could potentially contain a gluten-containing filler but otherwise it should still be gluten free! 🙂
