[slideshow_deploy id=’7960′]

These two. OMG. Can I just say we had the time of our lives together? I have never met a more hilarious and hard-working mother and son in my life. Chris and I could laugh for?days at some of our conversations and experiences with Josh and Kathie. And?oh yeah?they have two of the?the most incredible transformations we’ve ever worked on!!! I can only imagine all of you that watched last night thought so too. Now, we get some of our questions answered from America’s favorite mother and son transformation duo ever. Starting with Kathie…

Q. Kathie, tell me what your favorite memory or experience on EWL is.?

A. My favorite memory had to be our whitewater rafting trip in Colorado and the 38 mile bike race in Tahiti (which got cut during final editing!).

Q. What was the most challenging part of being on EWL?

A. Definitely being away from friends and family.

Q. I’m not sure I even have to ask, but what is your least favorite exercise and why?

A. Burpees because they suck. LOL

Q. What is your most favorite exercise and why?

A. CrossFit, rowing, running and yoga. I love all of this because I feel so good afterwards.

Q. What is the first thing that comes to mind when you think of Chris?

A. Respect.

Q. What is the first thing that comes to mind when you think of Heidi?

A. Loving.

Q. What is one thing that you think people would be surprised to learn about Heidi or Chris?

A. How truly compassionate they both are. They are the real deal. No fluff…

Q. What was the hardest part of “kicking out” Josh to start his new life on his own?

A. Having him possibly feel as though I didn’t care or love him.

Q. What tips could you give to other moms to help them help their children be successful when moving out?

A. Don’t feel guilty it is the way it’s suppose to be. I overcompensated and babied him too much because of his absent father.

Q. You started to date during your episode. How did the first date come about? How did you two meet?

A. We met on FB. He and I went to the same high school together. He was a year older. I told him he had aged well on an inbox message on FB and he said “your not so bad yourself ” and the rest is history.

Q. What was the hardest thing about starting to date again?

A. Feeling confident.

Q. What tips could you give to others who need to put themselves back out there to find love?

A. Know your worth it and that you matter. You never know until you try. Be real and do you Boo Boo…

Q. If you have a favorite healthy recipe or snack that you’ve discovered since becoming part of the show that you’d like to share, let’s hear it 🙂

A. I love to take plain fage Greek yogurt and add a raspberry lemonade crystal light to it. So simple and good.

Thanks, Kathie!! You were an absolute dream to work with. I’ve never laughed harder than I did with you!! We love you! Now on to Joshy Boy…

Q. Josh, don’t hate me for this pic :). I promised you I would post this after your show aired?and you know me?I take my promises seriously!!! Haha!! Okay, what is your favorite memory or experience on EWL?

A. My favorite memory of the past year has to be being chosen by Chris on The View. It was such an exciting moment knowing that my life was about to change forever & that we were about to embrace on a journey of a lifetime together.

Q. What was the most challenging part of being on EWL?

A. I would say the most challenging part for me was getting comfortable, being uncomfortable? if that makes sense. I was taken out of my norm, my comfort zone, knowing the outcome was the reward is was honestly kept waking me up in the morning.

Q. What is your least favorite exercise? why?

A. I am so in love with fitness now, that i don’t have a least favorite exercise! though, burpees SUCK!

Q. What is your most favorite exercise? why?

I have fallen in love with hiking! knowing that there is a view waiting for me at the top is my reward!

Q. What is the first thing that comes to mind when you think of Chris?

A. “Big Bro” Chris is the most genuine kind hearted man I have ever met in my life. I am so grateful to have had him as such a positive role model. We are family for life!

Q. What is the first thing that comes to mind when you think of Heidi?

A. “Pit Bull” haha I love my Heids! She is the sister that I never had who would never put up with my crap & i love her for that!

Q. If you had it to do over, would you still pick Chris again for that very first workout? 🙂

A. Oh yes! I wouldn’t change anything I did throughout this whole journey.

Q. What is one thing that you think people would be surprised to learn about Heidi or Chris?

A. Heidi and Chris are as real as it gets. There is not an ounce of “Hollywood” their bodies. Two of the most genuine, loving people in this world. If there were more “Heidis &Chris’s” the world would be such a better place!

Q. What was the most challenging part of being “forced” to move out of the house and away from your mom?

A. The most challenging part was getting out of my comfort zone. Like I said, I had to learn to get comfortable while being uncomfortable. Once I learned that, life became so much easier!

Q. What are a couple of tips that you could give to other young adults that are preparing to move out (maybe to college or just on their own) to make the transition easier?

A. Action Conquers Fear! I was terrified to branch out on my own, but I put my fear into action & powered through. It’s scary to start your own life after living at home for so long, but once you get on your own it’s so worth it & you will never want to move back in!

Q. What was your favorite part traveling to Tahiti?

A. My favorite part was the 38 mile bike ride that we did with Chris & Heidi that was cut out of the episode last night! That was one of the best days of my life, because I conquered something I never thought I could accomplish!

Q. If you have a favorite healthy recipe or snack that you’ve discovered since becoming part of the show, we’d love to hear what it is.

A.?I know this is horrible, but now that I have been through EWL I am such a boring eater! I eat the same 5 meals almost every day! Nothing exciting going on when it comes to food! Though I do love Tuna! Is that weird?! haha it’s just quick and easy!

  1. Amazing episode, I am pretty new to the show, only have been watching for 2 seasons now – Absolutly love Chris, and Heidi’s approach to it all. Looking forward to the rest of the season.

  2. Watched last night and you guys are amazing! All of you! I felt every emotion during the show and was so proud of Kathie and Josh. And yes – I can see that Chris and Heidi are the real deal. It is pretty obvious they do this out of love, and that they are truly dedicated to their mission. Congratulations to ALL!

  3. Heidi, there is a typo at the end of your page….just saying, Josh’s beg. weight was 345 lbs., not 335, that’s a whole 10 more lbs. that he worked to get off……his total weight being lost was 162 lbs., not 152, which is what the difference would be with that stat…..:)

  4. They were both so great! Josh was handsome prior to the weight loss however he was even more so at the reveal. It was great that he was able to struggle during phase 3, but manage to find his own way back to being on track by himself. So happy for him. It was sad that his dad wasn’t there for him in the end however. Regarding Kathie, she had that positive attitude throughout the entire year and looked so fantastic at the reveal. So happy for her that she found love during the process. They both deserve all the happiness life brings their way.

  5. I cannot say enough good things about this show. Best on TV, hands down. I could watch all day long. What an absolutely amazing gift you’re giving these people. I am sure it’s tough being a mom and juggling this show with motherhood, but you seem to be doing an amazing job. Love you and Chris!
