Chris vs. Heidi: What NOT to Do at the Gym (This Gets Ugly) ;)

This video needs no introduction…maybe a warning that it’s Chris vs. Heidi…as usual. Ha, ha! So get out your towels (to wipe up the bloodbath) and your pen & pad (to take notes).?Without any further adieu, ladies and gents, I present to you…What NOT to Do at the Gym.

Quick recap, my friends…what NOT to do at the gym:

  • Don?t interrupt/talk to someone in the middle of a set.
  • Don?t do bicep curls in the squat rack! Unless you are as sexy as Chris…then you can do whatever you want in the squat rack. 😉
  • Don?t be an ?unwanted? motivator. Okay…maybe I was stretching here to TRY to find something wrong with Chris! lol
  • Wipe down the equipment after you use it. Diiiiiiisgusting….
  • Don?t use a machine as a texting station. If you?re done with your set or need to text, move….so I can use the equipment!
  • Re-rack your weights when you?re done. I’m already clumsy and don’t need additional things to trip over other than my own two feet.

Capiche?

Xoxo,

Heidi

  1. Dear Heidi,

I have been trying to find away to contact your husband or yourself. I am a fifty year old women born with Spina Bifita and water on the brain in my twenties I became a double amputee. Which I was amputated twice fifteen years or so apart. I have always had a weight problem. I am reaching out to you or Chris. I am DESPERATE NEED OF HELP !. Now that I have turn fifty almost fifty-one. I have ballooned to 300 pounds or almost. The last weight taken on me was in the hospital on one of their beds my weight was 260. I only am about a little over 3 ft tall after my amputations. Please I am begging for your help. I can’t not live like this anymore. I cannot find anyone else willing to help me. The Doctors say I need to lose weight yet when it comes down to it they do nothing to help me. The other problem is. I only live on Social Security. I have no other resources to even pay for a Gym membership. I am willing to go on TV if I have to. Thank You, Please !, I am praying to GOD that you receive my PLEA !

    1. Hi June: Thank you for your comment and for sharing your story with us. Chris and Heidi truly wish they could personally help everyone, but they’re not taking on clients right now, and casting for “Extreme Weight Loss” is currently closed. You mentioned that you’ve discussed losing weight with your healthcare team, so you might discuss Chris and Heidi’s carb cycling program (the same program they use on EWL) with your doctors and have them help you make any necessary modifications to the exercise part of the program. The exercise part of their program requires no equipment or gym membership, so that should help you too. Here’s a post that outlines the carb cycling basics: https://heidipowell.net/9060. And remember, a huge part of weight loss is good nutrition, so choose a carb cycle, exercise as directed by your healthcare team, and you can do this!

  2. Hi Heidi and Chris
We love your show…We need your help.. I have two daughters 12 and 14 both are type 1 diabetes. My husband, my girls father just up and walked out on us 7 1/2 months ago, after being together for 20 years. and i know it has really hurt my girls emotional and my youngest just became a diabetic 17 days after he walked out. My oldest daughter got diabetes 5 years ago a week after i was viciously attacked by a pit bull while working at the post office. Their doctors say stress brought on the diabetes. My youngest is gaining wait rapidly she is 179lbs. she is 5’3 and my oldest is 165lbs. and is 5’6. We all try and work out but we need your help to give us advise on what the right exercise is right for them to do for them. It is so hard with both of them having low and high blood sugars it makes it difficult to work out they have no energy when their blood sugars are not right. While working out their sugars drop because of the exercise. I don’t know what else to do.. Please help..

    1. Hi Tammy: I’m so sorry to hear about all you and your daughters have been dealing with. Here’s a post that might give you some ideas to help you help your girls develop healthy habits: https://heidipowell.net/7201/teens-and-healthy-body-image-its-not-just-about-the-pounds/. And it would be best if they work with their healthcare teams on any nutrition and exercise programs, especially since they have diabetes, since their doctors understand their health histories and can work with them on a one-on-one basis as they continue to grow and develop. We wish you all the best!

  4. Hi Heidi and Chris. I think you are both amazing and so inspiring.
I was eating clean (no grains, dairy, sugar, sweetener, processed foods of any kind) and I felt really good but the weight wouldn’t come off. I have been diagnosed with NASH. Have you had personal experience with people losing the weight with a very fatty liver on the carb cycling plan? I need to get the weight off and don’t know what else to do.

    1. Hi Michelle: I’d suggest you discuss carb cycling with your healthcare team and then follow any modifications they might recommend. They are the best ones to help you figure things out since they know your health history and can work with you on a one-on-one basis. Here’s a post that outlines the carb cycling basics: https://heidipowell.net/9060. You can do this!

  5. Hola Team Powell!!!!! So i recently had a baby boy he is a month and 2 weeks today and my weight is a bit high for me. I try not to miss the extreme weight loss show because I love seeing all those amazing transformations!! I can honestly say that they motivate me to lose 40-45lbs as my goal. I have a small personal gym at home in my garage. Is there any suggestions on work outs? I will definitely appreciate it!!

  6. Are there any suggestions on how to find/discover what your triggers are? I am pretty good with the Nutrution piece and have just finished 5 introduction type courses in personal nutrition and sports nutrition but my downfall is that I typically sabbatoge my progress. I worked hard, got a trainer and went to the gym consistently. I lost 80lbs over 5 months but for the last month I have been so far off track and am having a very hard time getting back on track. I don’t know why I do this and in such don’t know how not to do it. I still have about 80lbs to go but am so unmotivated that I don’t know how to get there. I start my day out on track but After dinner I ruin everything I did during the day. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

    1. Hi Sherrie: Congratulations on losing 80 pounds – that’s awesome! Eating triggers can be different for each person. Have you tried keeping a food journal so you can better understand what the food triggers are for you? And here’s a post about Chris and Heidi’s #1 transformation tool, and it can definitely help keep you on track: https://heidipowell.net/8679. You can do this!

  7. Hi Heidi,
You are my complete inspiration and I love you so much. I’m 14 and you are just so amazing. Do you have any tips for teens about healthy eating and exercise? Thanks for being such an inspiration!

    1. Hi Constance: You’ll want to make sure your meals contain proteins, healthy fats, and carbs (fruits, vegetables, whole grains, legumes), and that you’re drinking plenty of water. For exercise, aim for about 60 minutes a day, and vary your activities if you can. Hope that helps!
