As people start losing weight they may often find themselves with loose or sagging skin. Skin surgery may not always be an available option after losing weight. Here are some of my favorite secrets and tips for giving your skin the best chance at natural retraction — minimizing loose skin when possible. And, what to do with that loose skin that isn’t retracting and has lost its elasticity.

I did crossfit for a year and although I think it is/was amazing, I am at a point in my life where I don’t feel like I need to muscle ups or hspu, boxjumps and things that are just hard on my joints. I do however enjoy lifting and cardio. Since I quit crossfit I’ve found I’ve packed back on the weight not only that I am not very motivated to get going again knowing that I need to. So I was talking with a friend and she suggests to cut out sugar completely. I have watched your and Chris’s show and cutting anything out I’ve learned is not good. I mean that doesn’t mean I go eat a big bowl of ice cream but maybe a scoop on cheat day. I know I’m not in shape to tell anyone how to diet but is this advice wrong or should I really cut out all sugar to start dropping pounds.
Hi Tammy: You don’t need to completely cut out anything to achieve your weight loss goals. In fact, Chris and Heidi incorporate reward days/meals (depending on which cycle you’re following) into their carb cycling program, and this has been proven to help you lose weight. You can learn more about their complete carb cycling program in this blog post: https://heidipowell.net/9060. I hope that helps!
Heidi,
I’ve had 3 c sections and have a c section shelf. I’m 5’5 and 140 pounds. It’s hard to tell what is fat or skin anymore. I’m sure I could loose some weight but will my c section shelf retract at all? I’ve contemplated a tummy tuck but lets face it who has the ability to have someone around for 6 weeks to lift their little ones for them? Not me. So what do I do from here. -Very depressed mom of 3
