Thanks to my inability to filter this mouth of mine, it is now known that the Powell Pack will be bringing a baby GIRL to this world in November ?. While we are beyond excited (who doesn?t love ruffle buns and bows?), I am totally stressing about one of the most important parts of having a baby: choosing the name!
I am asked on a daily basis if we have names picked out yet. I feel bad answering NO each time, but let?s be honest ? there is some pressure to this decision! A name is important. Once we choose this name for our little girl, she is stuck with it for life ? or at least for18 years, at which point she can go change it if she doesn?t like what we chose. LOL.
Let?s face it: humans are judgmental creatures. If a name is tease-worthy, you better believe that little 6 year old is going to get teased on the playground. What parent in their right mind wants to give a child a name that might add to their risk of getting teased or bullied?
As adults, we also judge based on names. Before we get to know a person, the only bit of info we have to judge by is their name. Some names sound powerful, some sound weak. Some sound prissy, and some sound sassy. Some are boring, some are wacko. As a parent, how can I be sure that the name I choose for this little innocent bundle of joy helps her more than it hurts her?
Oh the joys and stresses of parenthood.
I need your help with some suggestions! Please, please, PLEASE comment here with your baby names. Heck, I?ll even throw in a prize of some sort?I don?t know what yet, but if you throw out a winning name, and you’re the first one to suggest it, I will contact you after the baby is born and send you something awesome ;). Be sure to suggest a first, middle and last name!
Other Things to consider:
Matix and Marley both start with M. Cash is a C (obviously). Does baby #4 need to start with a C? If her name starts with an M, will Cash feel left out?
Marley and Cash both have names that come from famous musicians ? Bob Marley and Johnny Cash. Poor Matix is left out. Will we need to make sure NOT to give baby #4 a name that can be related to a famous musician?

I agree, that if you are going with a connection-you should have it start with a C and not be related to a musician. However, Chris is with a C so you could also go with an H name 🙂 So many routes to go with but some suggestions are Cabri, Camden(which is what I will name my baby if/when I have a girl), Harleigh, Harper, Honor. Whatever you choose, it will be perfect!
It was very hard naming my daughter. Before I ever had a girl, I had a dozen names picked out; but when I found out I was having a girl, none of them felt right. My grandmother’s name was Anna Leona and my name is LeAnn. I really wanted to name her Anna Leona but didn’t want to just call her Anna, and I figured AnnaLeona was a bit much. So I named her Annalee..kind of a take off between the two. Now that I am not pregnant again, I have two names I love Scout and Sophie. I think Scout is a very playful, powerful, and sassy name. I think it depends on how the child wears the name. 🙂 As far as explanations, you can say Matix was an original..only one like him and that him and Marley have M’s are a coincidence, as also with Cash and Marley being musician names. Tell them you took a step in a different direction and named this baby Scout (or whatever you like). The name is in To Kill A Mockingbird, so you can go with a book direction. Just a though….a long one. 🙂
I have four daughters and one son: 1. Candace Irene, 2. Alyssa Katherine, 3. Mary Nicole, 4. Lauren Sylvia, and 5.the baby of the bunch my son Aaron Malik.
Pick a name that you want your daughter to become or who God thinks she is. All my kids have some kind of meaning behind it. Like my daughters name is Makena joy both names mean happiness and yes she is one of the happiest child ever.

I think Caroline would be a good one 🙂 because the first letter is ‘C’, to match with Cash and it comes from the song “Sweet Caroline”, which is not a musitian, so Matix wont be left out, but it relates to music as Marley and Cash do. 🙂
I would say to call your new baby girl, Jubilee,Daisy, Lilly or Lauren.

I would deff name the new baby girl starting with a C. Maybe Cali?? (Pronounced caller)… Matrix, Marley, Cash and Cali!! 🙂
I say deff go with a C because I knew a woman before with the same situation and on her 4th child she went with a different letter that threw me and others off LOL Plus sticking with C gives a nice flow 🙂

We named our daughter Charlie Annabelle. 🙂 Good luck!! <3 Choosing names can be so tough! Our son (r.i.p.) was named Silas Zephyr. Then we were blessed with little Charlie. When you find the right name, it'll spark. Can't wait to see your newest addition! You guys make such beautiful babies!
