Thanks to my inability to filter this mouth of mine, it is now known that the Powell Pack will be bringing a baby GIRL to this world in November ?. While we are beyond excited (who doesn?t love ruffle buns and bows?), I am totally stressing about one of the most important parts of having a baby: choosing the name!
I am asked on a daily basis if we have names picked out yet. I feel bad answering NO each time, but let?s be honest ? there is some pressure to this decision! A name is important. Once we choose this name for our little girl, she is stuck with it for life ? or at least for18 years, at which point she can go change it if she doesn?t like what we chose. LOL.
Let?s face it: humans are judgmental creatures. If a name is tease-worthy, you better believe that little 6 year old is going to get teased on the playground. What parent in their right mind wants to give a child a name that might add to their risk of getting teased or bullied?
As adults, we also judge based on names. Before we get to know a person, the only bit of info we have to judge by is their name. Some names sound powerful, some sound weak. Some sound prissy, and some sound sassy. Some are boring, some are wacko. As a parent, how can I be sure that the name I choose for this little innocent bundle of joy helps her more than it hurts her?
Oh the joys and stresses of parenthood.
I need your help with some suggestions! Please, please, PLEASE comment here with your baby names. Heck, I?ll even throw in a prize of some sort?I don?t know what yet, but if you throw out a winning name, and you’re the first one to suggest it, I will contact you after the baby is born and send you something awesome ;). Be sure to suggest a first, middle and last name!
Other Things to consider:
Matix and Marley both start with M. Cash is a C (obviously). Does baby #4 need to start with a C? If her name starts with an M, will Cash feel left out?
Marley and Cash both have names that come from famous musicians ? Bob Marley and Johnny Cash. Poor Matix is left out. Will we need to make sure NOT to give baby #4 a name that can be related to a famous musician?
So much to think about. When you share your name suggestion, if there is a significance in why you picked it, be sure to let me know!
Comment away!!!!

You and Chris are adorable!
My first two were boys and were “M” and my daughter came and we were debating “M” and everyone asked. My husband came from a family of 8 kids and their names all started with “D”
WIth my daughter, she was actually nameless for a few days and even brought her home nameless. haha We went back and forth on the M and then C. Since the two boys were sometimes tongue twisters, I went with Caitlin. A Irish form of Catherine, after my grandma. It fits her perfect. I never heard of the name, but turns out there are alot of Caitlins. THough I love how hers is spelled.
The story behind you and Chris, where you have come and how you have impacted people and your love. I can see it is Chris eyes on tv… I would go with Grace. Or even Celeste could work, if you want to stick with C. Or Christy. My kids are older than yours and I know they love the meaning behind their names as it makes them feel more special.
btw–a knew a girl in HS whose name was CANDY…haha I know that is one “C” you won’t consider. haha
You cannot go wrong with Malia, especially if you want to stay with “m” names!
I love the name Jett for either a girl or a boy. Jett Marie Powell! Okay, Marie is my middle name, so maybe that’s biased…and it’s not strong enough to go with a name like Jett. You guys are both so creative, I know you will come up with something awesome and unique for this baby girl. Can’t wait to see what that is!
Stay blessed, -H
Harlow Brielle Powell
I had 1 boy who is now 27 with a child of his own that he named Braden. If I were to of had a girl, I was contemplating on a few names. Alexandria, Alex for short. Jessica, Jess for short… Or a really pretty name out there now is Bella or Chloe.
I like the name Carissa it’s greek and means “very dear” Carissa Ray Powell
If you want two M and two C’s how about Chrissi? That’s a combo name of Chris and the i and the end of Heidi. I always use family names for middle names but that’s just me.
I like the name Ruby Mia Powell, Mia means mine so in Spanish it would loosely translate to my Ruby. I could think of more but I love this name sooo I hope you do too!
Sarah Elisabeth Powell
Mara Alice Powell
Heavenly Jade Cash 🙂 it just sounds so pretty.
I chose Ce’Nedra Chloe Powell. Ce’Nedra is a name of a princess from a trilogy called The Belgorath (spelling could be wrong…lol). It is pronounced Se’Nedra but spelt the other way. To me it the name seems to work well as a baby and something she could grow into. Best wishes on the delivery! I watch all the Extreme Makeover Weightloss Edition. Fantastic and very inspiring as I am on my own journey of carb cycling! 🙂 Hope you choose this name!! Best wishes from The Krentz Family in Saskatchewan, Canada!!!! <3
