Thanks to my inability to filter this mouth of mine, it is now known that the Powell Pack will be bringing a baby GIRL to this world in November ?. While we are beyond excited (who doesn?t love ruffle buns and bows?), I am totally stressing about one of the most important parts of having a baby: choosing the name!
I am asked on a daily basis if we have names picked out yet. I feel bad answering NO each time, but let?s be honest ? there is some pressure to this decision! A name is important. Once we choose this name for our little girl, she is stuck with it for life ? or at least for18 years, at which point she can go change it if she doesn?t like what we chose. LOL.
Let?s face it: humans are judgmental creatures. If a name is tease-worthy, you better believe that little 6 year old is going to get teased on the playground. What parent in their right mind wants to give a child a name that might add to their risk of getting teased or bullied?
As adults, we also judge based on names. Before we get to know a person, the only bit of info we have to judge by is their name. Some names sound powerful, some sound weak. Some sound prissy, and some sound sassy. Some are boring, some are wacko. As a parent, how can I be sure that the name I choose for this little innocent bundle of joy helps her more than it hurts her?
Oh the joys and stresses of parenthood.
I need your help with some suggestions! Please, please, PLEASE comment here with your baby names. Heck, I?ll even throw in a prize of some sort?I don?t know what yet, but if you throw out a winning name, and you’re the first one to suggest it, I will contact you after the baby is born and send you something awesome ;). Be sure to suggest a first, middle and last name!
Other Things to consider:
Matix and Marley both start with M. Cash is a C (obviously). Does baby #4 need to start with a C? If her name starts with an M, will Cash feel left out?
Marley and Cash both have names that come from famous musicians ? Bob Marley and Johnny Cash. Poor Matix is left out. Will we need to make sure NOT to give baby #4 a name that can be related to a famous musician?
So much to think about. When you share your name suggestion, if there is a significance in why you picked it, be sure to let me know!
Comment away!!!!

We have two children and are not planning on having more. so I am willing to give away the name I would have used if we wanted another. The name is Hannah Therese. Our if either of you have a middle name or your parents middle name goes well with Hannah than you’ll have a great name with sentiment in the middle.
Hope you like it.
Chelcie Olivia Powell 🙂
Charlotte will always be my favorite girls name. It is feminine, classy, and pretty 🙂
If I am ever blessed to have another baby (fertility issues are lame!) and it’s a girl, I am going for Charlotte or Penelope.
Or maybe since you have two names with M’s, and with Chris that would be two names with C’s, maybe you could do a H name to go with you.. something like Harper? That would be fun! So it’d be Chris, Heidi, Matix, Marley, Cash, and Baby H 🙂
Hello,
Congrats on the little princess! I have a few suggestions… My top pick is Grace. My great grandma’s name is Grace and she is an amazing woman who is turning 100 in Dec. The other names I like are: Lauren, Reagan, Sophia, Eva, or Isabella.
Best of luck to in choosing a name.
Take care,
Morgan
I have 3 daughters & their names are:
Ashlyn Bailey
Hailey Nicole
Emily Elizabeth
We called my 1st daughter Brooklyn throughout most of my pregnancy until someone said ‘Brook Lyn Bussing’ sounded like a NY transit system!! Lol! So we changed to Ashlyn (she’s almost 18 so that name was very rare back then!) When I was pregnant w/ Emily I really liked the name Choie but a really good friend of mine (who’s kids all went to school with mine) named her baby Choie so I chose Emily instead!! Always loved the name ‘Christian’ for a girl but my husband’s name is also Chris & figured it would be hard to have 2 Chris’s in the house!!
For you I like: Chloe Joy, Cassidy Hope, Harper or Haddy (I really like the ‘H’ idea- Cash has daddy’s ‘C’!!), McKye, McKenna Grace, Ava or Addison….so many great names to chose!! We always had a couple choices & when she was born we just knew when we saw her!!! Good luck!!! And Thank You for all that do for others!! 😉
Cora-Lee Jade Powell 🙂
I have four daughters and their names are Olivia Grace, Summer Hope, Charlotte Faith, and Hannah Joy. We’ve thought about future girl names (lets face it, after four girls you stop thinking of boys names! lol) We like Madeline, Ayla, Faith, Hadley and Cora.
Hi! I have two girls and a boy and our first born is Aubree and her name was the only one we could agree on! Grace, my second child, is a family name and without the grace of God we wouldn’t be here… And Isaiah, my third, my son, is also a family name and also a biblical name. If I had a third daughter we would have named her Hannah Jean. Hannah being a biblical name and Jean is my grandmother’s name and she is the strong matriarch of our family!! So that is the suggestion I have for you! Hannah Jean! Good luck in choosing a name!

I like the name Cambree. It’s unique but not overly.
