Thanks to my inability to filter this mouth of mine, it is now known that the Powell Pack will be bringing a baby GIRL to this world in November ?. While we are beyond excited (who doesn?t love ruffle buns and bows?), I am totally stressing about one of the most important parts of having a baby: choosing the name!
I am asked on a daily basis if we have names picked out yet. I feel bad answering NO each time, but let?s be honest ? there is some pressure to this decision! A name is important. Once we choose this name for our little girl, she is stuck with it for life ? or at least for18 years, at which point she can go change it if she doesn?t like what we chose. LOL.
Let?s face it: humans are judgmental creatures. If a name is tease-worthy, you better believe that little 6 year old is going to get teased on the playground. What parent in their right mind wants to give a child a name that might add to their risk of getting teased or bullied?
As adults, we also judge based on names. Before we get to know a person, the only bit of info we have to judge by is their name. Some names sound powerful, some sound weak. Some sound prissy, and some sound sassy. Some are boring, some are wacko. As a parent, how can I be sure that the name I choose for this little innocent bundle of joy helps her more than it hurts her?
Oh the joys and stresses of parenthood.
I need your help with some suggestions! Please, please, PLEASE comment here with your baby names. Heck, I?ll even throw in a prize of some sort?I don?t know what yet, but if you throw out a winning name, and you’re the first one to suggest it, I will contact you after the baby is born and send you something awesome ;). Be sure to suggest a first, middle and last name!
Other Things to consider:
Matix and Marley both start with M. Cash is a C (obviously). Does baby #4 need to start with a C? If her name starts with an M, will Cash feel left out?
Marley and Cash both have names that come from famous musicians ? Bob Marley and Johnny Cash. Poor Matix is left out. Will we need to make sure NOT to give baby #4 a name that can be related to a famous musician?
So much to think about. When you share your name suggestion, if there is a significance in why you picked it, be sure to let me know!
Comment away!!!!

i agree with you about kids picking on each other about their names i as well chose names kids couldnt pick on…i love the name jazzmine lynn powell….i chose to spell it that way for you guys because jazz still is a music theme and its cute and different…happy baby name hunting….love extreme weight lose since the show has come out i have lost 60lbs the only problem i have with the show is i cant get through a show without crying….lol
Our 2nd child was for sure going to be Riley or Rylee. She is Rylee and sometimes Ry.
Not a prissy name but she is one of our daughters who models and due to her name starting with an R she is on all model list in Aplhabetical order. So I guess go with a C ?? Good Luck
We had terrible time getting pregnant after our son Lukas 4 miscarriages we tried IVF and finally when we gave up it happened we new if it was a boy he would be Nathan but a girl we were clueless?? We had many different names but none captured our heart until my husband came up with Nola Tora Wheale it was perfect for us and suits our healthy baby girl born June 11th 2010
Heidi I know it doesn’t start witha C but the name Nola means “famous”
Nola Heidi Powell
Has a nice ring to it 😉
Congrats to you both xo J
I am also a fan of unique names without being too weird. I also like to keep with a pattern of starting with the same letter. My kids are Brynn and Breckin. So I think you should pick a “C” name. I like Cason and Carson for girls.
Cassie would be a great first name. It combines Chris and Heidis name
and Maley for the middle name. It combines Marley and Matrix’s name.It completely ties her in to your strong and inseperative family. Cassie Maley Powell
I think a C name would be neat. Cadence/Cadance Powell?
Or maybe since Chris obviously starts with a C, maybe her name should start with an H like yours. Haven Powell? Congrats on baby #4! I am due with #4 any day now. Her name will be Kenadee Grace. (That’s another option 😉 )
Crisalyn Lainey Powell
I didn’t know I was having a girl until she was born. I was all ready to name my “son” Brandon! Picking a name within a few minutes was really rough but I love my daughters name, as does she, and nobody was able to pick on her! Kayla was chosen after watching years of Days Of Our Lives! You can have a Kayla and always spell it with a C!
Name your baby a name that YOU and CHRIS like. Don’t worry about whether it is a famous musician or if it begins with a certain letter…only the parents think about such things as feeling left out. By the time your child knows these things, they should be comfortable with their name and know that they are loved. I have 4 boys – I still love their names and they were all chosen out of love.
heydi…wow….i think this beautiful little girl will born in the most kindest lovest and truly woderful family her could born.
I follow your work with people cause i work with people too, but in another ways(confident, discipline, etc…)…so when this girl sees the love who involves your family its impossible she thinks something like that..
i always felt weird in my life cause when i help people, other people says…why you help them, for what, what you earn…?and they look at me like i was crazy cause i answered…power, satisfaction, kindest, love, friendship….an their smiles means more than anything
Then one day i saw your husband in extremely weight loss and i say wowwww there is too many people like my team..yeahhhhhh
And then i discovered you and i say awesome more…and since then i couldnt stop follow.
I think it would be nice another C in the powellpack(caroline perhaps?…i.m joking..jaja its my name)two M and two C would be nice..
i hope it can helps you…and im sorry if something don?t understand…i?m spanish(from spain) and perhaps i failed in gramatical phrases…
i hope news
