Thanks to my inability to filter this mouth of mine, it is now known that the Powell Pack will be bringing a baby GIRL to this world in November ?. While we are beyond excited (who doesn?t love ruffle buns and bows?), I am totally stressing about one of the most important parts of having a baby: choosing the name!
I am asked on a daily basis if we have names picked out yet. I feel bad answering NO each time, but let?s be honest ? there is some pressure to this decision! A name is important. Once we choose this name for our little girl, she is stuck with it for life ? or at least for18 years, at which point she can go change it if she doesn?t like what we chose. LOL.
Let?s face it: humans are judgmental creatures. If a name is tease-worthy, you better believe that little 6 year old is going to get teased on the playground. What parent in their right mind wants to give a child a name that might add to their risk of getting teased or bullied?
As adults, we also judge based on names. Before we get to know a person, the only bit of info we have to judge by is their name. Some names sound powerful, some sound weak. Some sound prissy, and some sound sassy. Some are boring, some are wacko. As a parent, how can I be sure that the name I choose for this little innocent bundle of joy helps her more than it hurts her?
Oh the joys and stresses of parenthood.
I need your help with some suggestions! Please, please, PLEASE comment here with your baby names. Heck, I?ll even throw in a prize of some sort?I don?t know what yet, but if you throw out a winning name, and you’re the first one to suggest it, I will contact you after the baby is born and send you something awesome ;). Be sure to suggest a first, middle and last name!
Other Things to consider:
Matix and Marley both start with M. Cash is a C (obviously). Does baby #4 need to start with a C? If her name starts with an M, will Cash feel left out?
Marley and Cash both have names that come from famous musicians ? Bob Marley and Johnny Cash. Poor Matix is left out. Will we need to make sure NOT to give baby #4 a name that can be related to a famous musician?
So much to think about. When you share your name suggestion, if there is a significance in why you picked it, be sure to let me know!
Comment away!!!!

I don’t think it needs to be a C or M either that would be just a preference by you two. 🙂 this one has been said a lot but it’s one if my faves too, Caidence. I also like Charlize. For C name.
Other pretty names are Brynley, Brinkley, Kallyn could be spelled with a C, Callyn, kinsley, Calla.
I think it’s easier too if you already know a middle name you like to see how it sounds together :). I’m due any day naming our baby girl Preslie Nicole
Hey!! Presley would be fitting as fat as your musician names with the other kiddos!!:):)
Good luck!!!
Matix, Marley, Cash, aaannnd:
Calli Powell
Camryn Powell
Cami Powell
Camden Powell
Cayten Powell
Charlee Powell
They would all sound great with short middle names like Jean, Ann, Ava, etc.
Cadence OR we spell ours Kaydence. We also have a Kinsley & I love the the name Kinley. We are all K names in our family. Cadence would be cool because it means rhythm so that goes along with the music theme & it starts with a C!
Caitlyn. The meaning of the name is pure beauty and with parents like you and Chris, She will be a beauty !!!
Constance faithful girl firmness
My suggestion is Cassidy Grace. No significance…I just think it sounds very pretty and feminine!
My husband and I could only agree on one name for our daughter and that was “Henley.” I didnt like that spelling though, so we spelled it Henleigh. It is a nod towards Don Henley, so it would follow the musician route. Also, just thinking in terms of having 2 “M” names and 1 “C”… a name like Henleigh would mean that Cash wasnt the only one with a name that started with a different letter.
The word/name Cadence has always been a favorite of mine as a lifelong musician. it means balanced, rhythmic flow. We all try to find our cadence in life, our balance, our flow. This incorporates music while not being a direct musical reference 🙂 good luck with new baby Powell! I am sure you will find the most perfect name for your new addition!
I did like the suggestion Cadence, that is cute.
My picks would be either Carter or Carson/Carsen. Both are not very traditional baby girl names, but I don’t think your family is “traditional” Each person in your family has a unique varied spark and personality. I like the sound of the names with your last name.
Carter Powell
Carson Powell
Either way, the baby girl will be beautiful for sure 🙂

I love the name Hadley. For no particular reason other than out it’s beautiful. For a middle name I like Charlet. It is an old fashioned name but with a prettier spelling. Much better than the old spelling Charlotte.
