Baby Name Dilemma

Chris and Heidi Powell are looking for names for their new baby girl - Learn more at https://heidipowell.net/3590

Thanks to my inability to filter this mouth of mine, it is now known that the Powell Pack will be bringing a baby GIRL to this world in November ?. While we are beyond excited (who doesn?t love ruffle buns and bows?), I am totally stressing about one of the most important parts of having a baby: choosing the name!

I am asked on a daily basis if we have names picked out yet. I feel bad answering NO each time, but let?s be honest ? there is some pressure to this decision! A name is important. Once we choose this name for our little girl, she is stuck with it for life ? or at least for18 years, at which point she can go change it if she doesn?t like what we chose. LOL.

Let?s face it: humans are judgmental creatures. If a name is tease-worthy, you better believe that little 6 year old is going to get teased on the playground. What parent in their right mind wants to give a child a name that might add to their risk of getting teased or bullied?

As adults, we also judge based on names. Before we get to know a person, the only bit of info we have to judge by is their name. Some names sound powerful, some sound weak. Some sound prissy, and some sound sassy. Some are boring, some are wacko. As a parent, how can I be sure that the name I choose for this little innocent bundle of joy helps her more than it hurts her?

Oh the joys and stresses of parenthood.

I need your help with some suggestions! Please, please, PLEASE comment here with your baby names. Heck, I?ll even throw in a prize of some sort?I don?t know what yet, but if you throw out a winning name, and you’re the first one to suggest it, I will contact you after the baby is born and send you something awesome ;). Be sure to suggest a first, middle and last name!

Other Things to consider:

Matix and Marley both start with M. Cash is a C (obviously). Does baby #4 need to start with a C? If her name starts with an M, will Cash feel left out?

Marley and Cash both have names that come from famous musicians ? Bob Marley and Johnny Cash. Poor Matix is left out. Will we need to make sure NOT to give baby #4 a name that can be related to a famous musician?

So much to think about. When you share your name suggestion, if there is a significance in why you picked it, be sure to let me know!

  1. I love the name Danika ( which mean morning star in Slavic ) then Morgan for a middle name or there is my fav for a girl and its starts with a C!!! Cambree Sophia
so Cambree Sophia Powell or Danika Morgan Powell

  2. Cleo, short for Cleopatra, the names meaning is glory/glory of the father. Or you could go with something even more creative like Celeste which means heavenly/divine. Good luck! My niece Audrey was nameless for days, but luckily her name fits her like a glove!

  3. Man this takes some hard thinking. I have 3 boys but haven’t had the opportunity to be blessed with a baby girl yet. Of course my sweet boys are blessings to. Well honestly the first thing to come to mind was inspiration but idk if you’d want that to be your daughters name. But you guys are such an inspiration to everyone. Maybe some day she will be to. For c names I like Coral, Claire, Callie, chloe & cadence. I’m a c name so c is pretty cool

  4. I think sticking with a “C” name might be a good idea. Maybe something like “Callie” – short, simple, means “beautiful”. Maybe Callie Adina, Callie Mikayla, or something more traditional like Callie Nicole.

  5. For a C name, I like Cadence or Camryn
For an M name, I like Miranda or Macie

I just like those names. No real significance. Congratulations.

  6. Carley Matison Powell
Carley is a combination of cash and Marley and Matison uses part of Matix….. This baby will be a special part of each of your other children’s lives and have influence from each of them

  7. I’ve always loved Ava Graciella, Ari, Cambria, your a such beautiful family anything will be perfect…Lots of luck…..;)

  8. If you decide not to use a “C” name, I think “Hope” would be a beautiful name for a person in your family, because that is what you and yours are all about, hope. A a nice middle name is always good in case she doesn’t like her first name. My birth name is Lourdes Maria, I disliked it all my life until I found out that Lourdes means anointing (yes, and fatness, oye vey!) yet you can imagine the teasing in the playground (lard as…). Maria was so common, so I use Lori. You will be glad you were so carefull about something your child will always have with her. Can’t wait to find out what you pick. Blessings!

  9. Congratulation to your coming baby girl. I follow you on Facebook alot and Chris’ show Extreme Weightloss, is prodcasted on Swedish TV. I’m also pregnant, with our third child, a baby boy. His name is probably going to be Robin. You should go for the letter C, so you get a balance in your family 😉 Cassandra, Cassy, Clara, Ciara, Cia, Cindy.
