Thanks to my inability to filter this mouth of mine, it is now known that the Powell Pack will be bringing a baby GIRL to this world in November ?. While we are beyond excited (who doesn?t love ruffle buns and bows?), I am totally stressing about one of the most important parts of having a baby: choosing the name!
I am asked on a daily basis if we have names picked out yet. I feel bad answering NO each time, but let?s be honest ? there is some pressure to this decision! A name is important. Once we choose this name for our little girl, she is stuck with it for life ? or at least for18 years, at which point she can go change it if she doesn?t like what we chose. LOL.
Let?s face it: humans are judgmental creatures. If a name is tease-worthy, you better believe that little 6 year old is going to get teased on the playground. What parent in their right mind wants to give a child a name that might add to their risk of getting teased or bullied?
As adults, we also judge based on names. Before we get to know a person, the only bit of info we have to judge by is their name. Some names sound powerful, some sound weak. Some sound prissy, and some sound sassy. Some are boring, some are wacko. As a parent, how can I be sure that the name I choose for this little innocent bundle of joy helps her more than it hurts her?
Oh the joys and stresses of parenthood.
I need your help with some suggestions! Please, please, PLEASE comment here with your baby names. Heck, I?ll even throw in a prize of some sort?I don?t know what yet, but if you throw out a winning name, and you’re the first one to suggest it, I will contact you after the baby is born and send you something awesome ;). Be sure to suggest a first, middle and last name!
Other Things to consider:
Matix and Marley both start with M. Cash is a C (obviously). Does baby #4 need to start with a C? If her name starts with an M, will Cash feel left out?
Marley and Cash both have names that come from famous musicians ? Bob Marley and Johnny Cash. Poor Matix is left out. Will we need to make sure NOT to give baby #4 a name that can be related to a famous musician?
So much to think about. When you share your name suggestion, if there is a significance in why you picked it, be sure to let me know!
Comment away!!!!

Go with an “H” name – Cash matches Chris, Matix and Marley match each other – so you need an H… Hope is always a good classic name, but if you are willing to branch out a bit Hilda means Protector – strong indeed! Or, Hailey (or any of the spelling variations) means Heroine.
Best of luck to all of you, and praying for the brightest future for the whole family. Thank you for all that you give to those who need you…
You should name her Lennyn (John Lennon) buy putting a “y” in it makes it more girlie I think!
Yes I think a C name would be great. Caylie or Cayley is really cute. Cayley and Cash. I was going to say Carley until I saw that you have a Marley…lol. I also love the name Cameron and Camilla. And maybe her middle name should be Christina after Chris.
So Cameron Christina Powell
or Camilla Christina Powell
or Cayley Christina Powell
Good luck with little Cameron, Camilla or Cayley or hey my name starts with a C lol….Cynthia (Cyndi)lol
🙂
Mckayla!
Noa. that’s the name of our daughter. She is now sixteen years old and still loves her name.
Wish you all the luck.

CARLY!!! Ok I’m prejudice because that’s my (12 yr old) baby’s name!!!
Many sweet blessings to you and your family!!!
We came up with 3 possible names. Both of our children have 2 middle names (in order to honor grandparents, etc.)Then we “tried them on” the baby while we were in the hospital. We did not name our children until just before leaving the hospital. Drove our parents and friends up the wall, but it help us make sure the name fit the child. The only thing that I wish I would’ve done is put a well known surname from my side of the family, in as a middle name for one of them. That way it will help others with tracing family trees in the future.
I know it is not a “C” but I think you should choose:
Kiara Trinity Powell. This was the name of my cousin’s little girl. She was born missing a part of her brain and was unable to function like a normal little girl. She went to numerous therapies throughout her short life and despite being disabled, she was a happy little girl. Her parents made sure that they did not treat her differently than their other children and gave her a good life. Unfortunately, 2 weeks after her 5th birthday, she suffered a seizure that ended her life. They still celebrate her birthday and have also created a college scholarship for local high school graduates in her name. She also last year to help her family get through their first Christmas without her created an event on Facebook called “12 Days of Khristmas Kindness for Kiara”. It went viral and worldwide. Every picture with their 4 other children they leave a space with a heart for Kiara.
I chose Trinity as the middle name since it means the father, son and holy spirit. My fianc? wanted to name our baby that if we were having a girl, but we found out about 7 weeks ago that we are expecting a boy, so we are naming him Luke!
Good luck choosing a name! And congratulations!!
I LOVE the name CLARA. It’s our daughters name. But I also love the name Scarlett, Charlotte (Charley), Millie, & Hattie. We had a really hard time coming up with another girl name so I was grateful we had another son! Good luck it’s difficult choice, I jus adore your family!
