“Extreme Makeover’s” Chris Powell has a new co-host in Season 4: wife Heidi, who also is a certified trainer.

Chris Powell announced on Facebook that he?ll have a co-host when Season 4 of ABC?s ?Extreme Makeover? airs later this spring. It?s his wife, trainer Heidi Powell.

During an interview I had with the uber-trainer last fall, Chris said that it was Heidi who helped him develop the idea for the show when the two were still dating. And viewers of ?Extreme Makeover? know that Heidi has shown up on-air a number of times to offer support or specific guidance for different contestants during the previous seasons.

While Heidi shows a real compassion for contestants, I don?t think anyone should mistake that for being a softie, BTW. This is a busy time for the couple; they became parents of daughter Ruby Lane on Nov. 16, upping the number of children in their household to four.

Season 4 will air in the spring. The show follows contestants through a year of trying to lose weight and live more healthfully. It is taking applications for potential contestants for Season 5 already.
