Dress for Less: My PRISM Awards Show Outfit!

Fashion is not my forte, in fact, if it was up to me, I would conduct every business meeting and every appearance in a pair of yoga pants and a comfy tank top! However, my job requires A LOT of dressing up, and through the years I’ve come into my own and found what styles make me look and feel my best. Last week for the PRISM Awards show, I wore one of my all-time favorite looks! It’s a rare occasion I feel this glam, and I was absolutely loving it. After receiving a few questions about where I picked up my dress and accessories, I thought I’d share my not-so-secret dress info. And BONUS—most of the items I picked up are part of the Nordstrom sale going on now! Don’t leave all the back-to-school shopping for the kiddos, mama deserves a new pair of shoes too ;).

I absolutely loved my ombre pink dress, but sadly, it’s now out of season and long gone. I found this look-a-like French Connection Cap Sleeve Bandage Dress, and I’m obsessed! Isn’t coral the new pink?! I love the way this fits and makes me feel classy AND sexy.

I don’t ditch my Reebok Z Pumps often, so when I do, you know it’s for good reason! I love a good stripy sandal, and these Enzo Angiolini Ankle Strap Sandals are no exception. The gold color is so fun, but is neutral enough it can be worn with anything! Plus at just $40, you can’t beat the price.

Small dainty necklaces that make a big statement are my favorite! I don’t have time to mess around with changing jewelry all the time, so I prefer pieces that are versatile enough to be worn on every occasion. Right now this Alexis Bittar Crystal Loop Necklace is my favorite—light and sparkly without being over done. You can find it here for less than $100!

Kate Spade Small Stud Earrings in White —the most perfect every day earring! I bought these for the award show, but have hardly taken them off since. They go with everything, and despite being a chunky earring, they are so light I forget I have them on!

To top off my award show outfit, I needed a bracelet that was fun and funky but also classic enough to be worn again and again. This Swavorski Mixed Media Bracelet was perfect! The rhinestones gave it the perfect amount of shine, while the leather cord kept me grounded in my tomboy roots. My new go-to to dress up a t-shirt and jeans!

Xoxo,

Heidi

    Heidi-

You looked SO great in that pink dress! Your tan really made that dress pop on you! Do you use some kind of self tanner? If so, what brand do you use? It looks perfect.

    Thanks!

Dear Hedi, I have watched your show with your husband each year with my 26 year old daughter Ashley. She lives with her new husband Jack. We text back and forth while watching. This probably not how to contact you but its about my daughter. I have regularly worked out with her for years. She struggles with her weight and tries so hard to lose it. I am concerned about her health. She is such a beautiful young lady inside and out. She is a surgical technician and loves her job. Weight has not always been a problem for her. She started gaining in college. As a mother of 4. Exercise and good nutrition has always been a part of my life. She dreams of a family one day but is trying to loose weight first. She recently got diagnosed with a Pituitary tumor. I am just devastated. It is none cancerous but one more obstacle for my baby girl to overcome. We both work until 8 pm and continue to meet at the local HS track to run. To me she is amazing. Last October she married the live of her life. I helped her to loose 30lbs. Since then she has gained it back plus more. She is very unhappy now. It breaks my heart, she tries so hard and loves you and Chris and all you do for others. If you could help me help my baby girl it would be a gift from above. She now weighs around 275lbs. Please let me know if you can help. A Loving mom, Nancy

Hi Nancy: Thank you for posting and telling us about Ashley. Chris and Heidi would love to help her personally, but they’re not taking on clients right now. That’s why they’ve made all the tools they use available for all of us to use to achieve our transformation goals. You can learn all about these tools here: http://heidipowell.net/9060. Please share this post with her, help her make and keep that first promise, and she’s on her way! She can do this!
