Day 11-15: Thankful for Magic Hands…and for Little Miss Ruby :)

This post was created about 30 minutes before my water broke at home last Saturday morning :). Because a trip to the hospital was in order, it was clearly never posted. But I really do think this may have done the trick! It’s funny to read this post, knowing so much was just on the cusp of happening…and at the time I had no idea.

Blog post, typed just hours before Ruby was born, below.?

PS – I am counting this as Days 11, 12, 13, 14, and 15 that I missed during labor and recovery. Little Miss Ruby has given me so much to be thankful for in this Month of Thanks, I?believe this is warranted :).

pregnancy-massage-istkI don’t get them often, but when I do get a massage, I sure do appreciate it :).

Yesterday’s was amazing.

Once I realized that no amount of physical activity, hiking, jumping, or sex (sorry if TMI, but many of you suggested it!) could put me into labor, I decided to take a shot in the other direction with some much-needed “rest and relaxtion”. “Maybe THIS will do it for me,” I thought.

I called our amazing massage therapist and she made it to our home within 3 hours to do the job :). It. Was. The. Most. Amazing. Massage. Ever. Maybe because my body has been in need for so long, or maybe because I was so tired…or maybe because Jenn has magic hands! I don’t know, but I will tell you this…I am SO thankful for yesterday’s massage.

Let’s hope the R&R did the trick! The clock is ticking…no baby yet…

  3. I was due on a Sunday and my fiance’s brother’s wedding was Saturday. On that Wednesday around 7pm I started to feel teeny tiny contractions. I was determined to get baby out before the wedding. Around 8:30pm I had my friend a massage therapist come over with some raspberry leaf tea and her magic hands. She massaged pin points on my ankles known to help with the induction process. About a half hour after my friend had left the contractions I felt were about dbl what they were but still tolerable. Needless to say I slept from about midnight to 1:15am and by 5:30am I was calling the birthing center and making sure they had a room for me. Had my baby boy at 2:58pm that Thursday and we still made it to the wedding…which I forgot to add my fianc? was the best man in. Lol!

  4. Congrats on your precious arrival! I too had been doing EVERYTHING like you said to jump start labor and of all days that I decided to just relax and enjoy my day instead of trying to go into labor- my water broke! I ended up delivering my little girl on Nov. 6th. It has been inspiring to follow your pregnancy as we were due the same time. Many best wishes to you and your sweet family! (Love the name Ruby ??)

  5. I know my last pregnancy I got a massage early in my pregnancy. My massage therapist said to come see her when I got close to my due date….she knew just the places to massage that would put me into labor! Didn’t end up doing it as I found out I was having twins….doctor didn’t want me going into labor early!

  6. Welcome Ruby! Blessings & congratulations to your whole family. Thank you for sharing your life, your hearts, and your encouragement with so many. Wishing you the happiest of holidays.
