I am entering my first 5K next month. I am 73 years old and have lost 132 lbs with about 30 more to lose. These shoes look like they would give me the stability I need walking on all the surfaces I walk on. I was an athlete in my youth and am trying to regain some of that special feeling of well-being at this stage of my life.
Doing a Color Me Rad 5K and a Mudhero this year to improve my overall physical strength and mental health!!
Last year I did tough murder. I am very scared of heights and could not jump from 20′ plank into the mud water. My friends told me I have to do it else i’ll always feel that I never finished the race successfully. I finally decided to jump and my heart started pounding very fast when i looked down. As I jumped off the plank, i panicked and drowned into the water and someone had to come get me out. This year, I am doing tough murder again just to prove to myself that I can do it. I have been practicing diving into the pool at my gym.. I am DETERMINED !
This year to challenge myself mentally and physically I am signing up for mlre 5k mud runs with the hope of doing a tough mudder at the end of the year. I have been trying for two years to lose weight, It has been a real struggle. I lose some, get stuck, and give up after trying everything I can think of. The more mud runs I sign up for the better it is for my motivation. Every mud run I do I dedicate to my dad who lost his left leg in Iraq in 2008. When i start to slow down or want to give up I think of him and I keep goingg. My dad would love to do these 5ks woth me but since he cannot I dedicate them to him. My next run is on march 22nd and these shoes would be great for it. My end goal this year is to do the tough mudder, lose 45lbd and keep it off. It had been really hard both mentally and physically and I am glad we have people like Heidi and Chris to keep us motivated. #PowellRebookGiveaway
I’ve always been naturally thin and athletic but never have had a lot of muscle tone. My choice of exercise is running and hiking with my husband and three children. My youngest is 9 months old and I’m currently weighing in at 100lbs. I’ve started lifting weights with my husband who is a police officer, so he obviously has to stay fit. I’m hoping by adding weights into my daily routine that I can healthly gain weight and tone up!
I’ve always been a bit out of shape, but still pushed myself to the warrior dash and foam Fest. I am also going on my 4th season coaching Girls on the Run, yet what I teach the Girls is to believe that they can do anything, but I didn’t quite believe In myself! I have never attempted more than a 5k, but I signed up for my first half marathon in September…. I keep telling myself I can do this every day! And I am starting to believe it!
I am the mother of 4. A 13 yr old, 8 yr old and twins that are 7. That already tests my mental and physical capacity. But my goal this year is to complete a 5k with all 5 of us. I have run with 1 and 2 before, but not all 4. We just started training yesterday for a 5k in May.
In2012-13 I lost 45lbs going from a 14 to 4 in 8 months. I ran my 1st 5K that year and felt a lot of inner strength. This year we were 1 of 5 families with Boys and Girls Club to compete in the finals of their Fit Family Challenge in Jan. Being active is an important part of teaching my children skills for their future. Leading by example. My personal goal is to complete Hard Charge in KS in April. I was worried about shoes and how to adapt. Great Tools Lead to Great Success. I want Great Success!
A mother of 4 wife of a farmer and I work at hospital and on an ems squad I enjoy trying to find more time to do activities with my family and trying to stay in shape for my job. This year I’m pushing myself more and also doing a color run. Wanting to helps others be all they can be!
Doing my first tough mudder in may , would love to try these out
