About four years ago, I was sexually assaulted while serving in the U.S. Air Force. I went through depression and gained 40 pounds, becoming overweight for the first time in my life. As a disabled veteran, I am now working through my PTSD and reclaiming both my mental and physical health through diet and exercise. I am inspired by you both and your genuineness toward improvement. I am focused on training for a Spartan Sprint in Washington, D.C. in June.#PowellReebokGiveaway

I have had a very hard time finding fun in workouts. I used to play volleyball in college and ever since I graduated it’s been difficult to find something that is as competive and fun. That was until I found crossfit. I absolutely love crossfit. I just started it this year, and it’s amazing. I feel that competitive drive again. But at the same time it is extremely difficult and I cannot complete a wide variety of the excercises. It’s challenged me to get out of my box and to work hard every time.
One thing Im doing this year to test my mental and physical capacity, is exercise at least 30 minutes a day, and to mix my workout up with fun activities, like dancing. This is a mental test as well, because there will be days that I don’t want to exercise, but I remind myself, its just thirty minutes. This change is slowly changing my life. This change is showing me how strong I actually am, mentally and physically.
This year I am testing my mental and physical capability by having my first child! It took a long time to get to this point, but this year I am ready and willing to stretch myself in everyway possible to bring a new life into the world. I couldn’t be more excited (and nervous) … and these shoes will help me get back in shape once the little one arrives in May!
This year is big for me. I just turn 29 and I’m making my last year in my twenties to be fit and active before I hit 30. Never in my life have I achieved a fit and healthy body. Though I was in the Army back then I was just in shape for a brief moment then went back to my normal eating habits and working out just here and there. All that is about to change. I just got P90x3 and I’ve registered 3 Spartan races to get the trifecta and i’m doing 2 tough mudders. these shoes will be great in my quest for a better body and mind and i’m hoping to inspire others to do the same.
Addendum:I have had two foot fractures and two foot surgeries in the past 4years and am just now getting back to walking, so stable, protective shoes are a must for me!
At 21, my body has fluctuated in good ways and bad. I’ve struggled with eating disorders, digestive issues, and chronic problems, but I am determined to overcome them. I run a healthy lifestyle pages on Facebook, Tumblr, Instagram, and Twitter, and I want to encourage others to eat clean, work out, and love themselves. Patience is key, but this year, I want to focus on fat loss for myself and muscle gains, and I want to grow my internet following exponentially. Networking is so important, and I am balancing that with school, work, and my well-being! 🙂
IN sept i will be doing my first 3 day walk for breast cancer walking for three days
This year I am going to challenge myself and participate in the Miami Super Spartan race in April. As a 22 year old, post-college grad, I am not sure where life will take me. It can be discouraging and frustrating to not know exactly what path you will take, feeling kind of lost in the world. This race will be a challenge and a goal I can work towards to overcome something I never thought I could accomplish. Being able to participate in a physically and mentally tough race like this will make me feel accomplished and that I am worth something! An active lifestyle and having goals has made me become a much happier person overall.
