I am 67 years old and every march i walk in a six mile walk for babies with the march of dimes I have had a knee replacement and it is hard to find the right shoes and i would be so proud to wear these shoes on my walk this year. Love you both, keep up the great work you both do. GOD BLESS
I am currently training to be at my goal weight of 210 and run a tough mudder and half marathon. I am 24 years old and have struggled with my weight for most of my life. Close to a year ago I was at 305lbs and unhappy with how I looked, Thanks to awesome trainers, and support from friends and family I am now at 245 with the goal of getting to 210 with in a couple of months. Anyway, I have set a goal that if I get down to 225 by the end of March beginning of April I will sign up for a tough mudder with the goal of eventually signing up and completing a half marathon. The reason I would like to win a pair of these shoes is it would give me added confidence in training for the tough mudder. so if i win that would be awesome but if not im sure they are going to a person who needs them more than I do. Thank you for considering me for these.
Also Thank you for what you and Chris do, you guys are one of the main motivations i started on and am continuing the journey, continue to do what you guys do.
When my daughter was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes almost 5 years ago, I let myself go. The last 2-3 years I have taken back my life and started running. This year I am dedicating all my runs to her! She is really my hero! I have never ran more then a 10K and this year I signed up for a 9K and a HALF MARATHON!! Talk about mental and physical!! If she can be happy and well adjusted, I can run!
I am testing my mental ability to make a commitment to myself. I have three major thingss coming up in my life that I need to get into shape for (besides being healthly) I have a trip to Costa Rica, school reunion and my WEDDING. So far I have done good sticking to my healthy eating habits and working out AT least thirty minutes a day. I can even run a little bit now. I hope to make that time for running longer. I would love a pair! Never had good workout shoes.
Yesterday I completed my first 5 k. I was inspired by a quote Chris posted on his Facebook page. “Dead last is greater than did not finish which trumps did not start”. I saw that quote and something clicked. I signed up for the Cinderella Royal Family 5k and had no clue where to start. So I bought choose to lose and read it cover to cover, I found a gym buddy I had six weeks to train. It’s been a tough emotional journey. Ive been overweight for so long being thin scares me. At times I feel like I will lose myself, instead of getting to know who I truly am. I jogged for two minutes and my legs started to hurt. I began walking and then my self talk took over. I began telling Excuses that she needed to run because I needed to stay on pace. I needed to finish before an hour ha passed. And so I ran then hit another wall and back to walkin it was again my self talk kicked in, I ran again and all of a sudden I realized is been running for ten minutes and I could do this. I CAN DO THIS!!! I finished my race at 54 minutes and I cried. I had all these emotions, years of giving up because it hurt or i hit a wall and Believed that I could not do it were gone. It was at that moment I realized I can do whatever I put my mind to. I control my body no one else. My goal for this year is to get healthy, get to of my type 2 diabetes and run a half marathon at next years princess weekend. As for the sneakers they would be some extra motivation, even if I’m not selected I would like to say thank you to both you and Chris. It’s very obvious that you both practice what you preach and you truly care about those you help.
You guys rock. such a beautiful family inside and out
Chris and Heidi,
I recently moved to Texas and have begun my weight loss journey. The weather here is completely different from Pennsylvania and I’m excited to get out and jog/run. There are great parks around here and the beach is only an hour and a half away. These shoes would work perfectly for both terrains!! I’m really looking forward to losing the weight this year because we are planning a trip to Puerto Rico this summer 🙂 Thanks Heidi and Chris, you guys are the best!!!!
I am testing both my own physical and mental capabilities by running a half marathon this October. My running journey began two years ago. I have faced many obstacles: 2 ankle surgeries, knee surgery and watching lung cancer take the life of my mom. I lost 60 pounds from running and made a promise to my mom I would run a half and eventually a full marathon!
At 48 years old, for the very first time in my life, I have started to exercise … I have registered at a gym, paid myself a personnal trainer … and to my surprise … I LOVE IT!!!! In the last month, I have started running …OMG… I just can’t get enough! I go the gym, 5 days a week! My new way of life, was, at first, a bit difficult for my family! I get home from work, I change and I leave for the gym … but they got used to it and now … my husband started training in our basement on the elliptical, my daughter (16 years old) started training with a program she bought on the web and my son (18 years old) started kickboxing!!!! Finally, I started to exercise for myself but I didn’t know that I was contributing in helping every member of my family!!! 🙂
After watching my husband successfully finish his first Spartan race I have come to realize I need to challenge myself more. At 28 yes old I’m at 205 lbs. I’ve struggled with my weight since the birth of my son 4 yrs ago. I use to love to run and realize I need to get that passion back somehow. Following Chris on Facebook has given me a daily goal and inspiration. The two of u with your kids are such an inspiration. Thank you so much and continue inspiring us
