With a sister with rheumatoid arthritis and a partner w/throat cancer, I have learned to not take one moment for granted and that there is no moment like the present. In the last year I have discovered some fascinating things about myself and my body. The strength, determination and competitiveness that I never appreciated came bursting out as I started to take myself out of my comfort zone and joined in the mud run fascination. Last year I completed a half marathon and this year I am signed up for 8 events!
I am fairly new to running. I’ve done a few Couch to 5k programs and probably a dozen or so 5k’s, including the Dirty Girl Mud Run which was a great and fun intro to mud runs. This year I’m pushing the envelope and trying Muckfest MS which seems a little more hardcore and supporting my cousin who is my age and diagnosed with MS a few years ago. These shoes would make it that much easier!! Awesome review!
I will run in May my first 5K mud race, here in Miami, at the Zoo… I’ve been strangling with my weight since my 10 yrs old, I am 35 now and was always lose and gain, and my goal for this year is to lose and NOT gain, giving myself time to do it and not all at once. I would love to win this shoes so my first experience on the mud be the best on all categories.
This year, my husband and I are tackling some pretty massive lifestyle changes. It’s been mentally tough to stop the bad habits, and we still struggle. Physically neither of us are anywhere near where we want to be (he’s got 100lbs to shed, I’ve got 50) but we are taking it on one pound at a time. Why are we doing it? For us!
I’ve always struggled with eating and weight loss. I start to diet then I stop. Then I started following you and chris on Instagram and began to be more motivated now it’s been about 4 months I’m down 30lbs and getting stronger and faster. With that I’ve started to get involved with obstacle races and at the end of the year I was challenge myself mentally and physically by competing in Tough mudder. I have you two to thank for all the motivation.
I would love a pair of these, and with my finances that won’t happen anytime soon.
This year, while my husband is deployed, I decided to make a switch to a healthy lifestyle. Clean eating, exercising daily, and learning to love my self. I was diagnosed with Bi-Polar Disorder and PTSD last year and battled depression and let myself go along not caring. I decided to not let being Bi-Polar define who I am. I just found out that I will have to get a hysterectomy at the age of 22 next month but nothing and no one will get me down. I CAN and WILL do this! I will reach my goals in 2014!
This past year has been very challenging but also spectacular in its own way. As a graduate student and working a full time job, it is often very difficult to find motivation to go to the gym or eat healthy. Although, this year I have receded back to some of my old habits I am starting fresh and making positive changes to my lifestyle. Running is a passion of mine and gaining speed, even in some of the unpleasant weather in Ohio, is a continuous goal of mine. I enjoy staying healthy and fit and plan to continue the cycle this year and strive to improve my fitness endurance.
I signed up to do the Dirty Dash in June and it will be my first time. I am way excited and I can’t wait! I also signed up to do The Color Run in August. I want something to look forward to and it will also help me stay on track to eating healthy and exercising everyday. These shoes would be awesome to train in!! #PowellReebokGiveaway
