Several years ago, I was at my heaviest weight and completely miserable. I decided to make a change and my road to fitness began. I had many ups and downs, but through the process lost 90 pounds…and gained back my life. Along the journey, I realized how much I enjoy inspiring others to take their lives back and get healthy. My journey has never been about skinny, always about fit. I became certified in group fitness, rowing, yoga and bootcamp. Last spring I decided to reach out to my community and start a bootcamp. I would meet people at our local park and run bootcamp classes for people of all fitness levels. I cannot tell you the joy I get seeing someone fight for their health. I took some of my particants to the spartan run in our area this past fall, and it was amazing. Seeing people accomplish a goal they never thought was possible…it doesn’t get any better. Winning these shoes would allow me to run all around this park this summer and continue to bring fitness and health to those who are ready to make a change.
I have been really encouraged by my new eating habits, my weight loss, rhythms and want to encourage/challenge other women to join me in pursuing a fuller life. I really want to start a transformation group for women around me, educating them on benefits of eating well, exercising and working through hard emotion issues (I have a background in counseling/mentoring). I believe this will challenge me both mentally, physically and emotionally. I know the journey to a fuller life is a hard one and I would like to walk with women who are ready for change.
hi I’m Joseph (buck) Buckner I’m in the Coast Guard 27 years old this year is the first year that I am have been sticking to my training and doing a lot better. (75 miles ran so far) me and my wife Anna buckner ran our first 5k for my birthday on February 1st that’s all I ask her for this year it was great to get to do something like that for the first time with my wife. this year I have great plans to test my mind mentally and physically I’m already signed up for another 5k, half marathoncan, and plan on doing the goofy challenge in 2015. also I’m trying everything I can to advance in my career and help my family even more by passing my E5 test just yesterday i would love the pair of the shoes to get started on the trail running that I want to do also.
First of all BIG fan of both you guys!! second I have always been a “weight lifter” started my own gym and Train others, but going on 49 years old I noticed I needed to change the way I think about workouts, no more super heavy all the time, had to incorporate HIIT , and other types of Cardio blasts! Body started responding different and I LIKE IT! doing my first “OBSTACLE COURSE” this June to test my “new” me I had to get out of the mentality of working out one way, even though I train others different..
As of January 1st, 2014 I decided to get real with myself! I stopped eating junk food and keeping a strict food journal. I also started running and have lost 20lbs. I am training for my first half marathon in May and for the Spartan Super in Chicago! I’m going to collect my tips and try and save for these shoes but it would be helpful if I won them! Most of my training takes place outside in below zero weather (North Dakota) and so I’d love to try these shoes out on our snow and ice packed paths!
This year I have really made it a point to exercise more, eat clean and be the best me I can be. Not only for myself but, for 3 children. Exercise has become my passion. I love being active, my kids love it, and I feel great. I think the choices we make for ourselves not only impact is but, our kids too! #eatclean #fitforlife #powellreebokgiveaway
I have struggled with my weight my entire life. I grew up in a family that rewarded with food. All of our social activities involve food. Throughout the years I have dealt with eating disorders, and felt that I was meant to be unhealthy. Last year I signed up for Tough Mudder and even though it was a struggled completed all 11 miles. This was my proudest physical accomplishment I have ever done. I wasn’t the fastest, but finished. This year I have continued my training and will compete in my 2nd Tough Mudder on April 5, 2014 in Mesa, AZ. I am extremely proud of myself and have a team of 11 called the Muddy Bunch. I am no longer in the 200’s and my goal is no longer to be thin but to be fit, healthy and push myself each day. Would love to have these shoes for my next Tough Mudder. Thank you. #PowellReebokGiveaway
Well I am due to have a baby end of June this year and starting August 1 (with Doctor release) I will be training for my very first 1/2 marathon next April! I was scheduled to do the same 1/2 marathon this year but doctor orders made be delay it to next! I am hoping to be able to finish under 4 hours and work my way to my first ever FULL Marathon!
I just recently started running again after having my twin boys and am in the process of training for my first 1/2 marathon this May! I’m really excited since this has been a goal of mine for quite sometime and I’m finally going to accomplish it!!!
I am currently registered for the Color Run 5K in April and the Zombie Run Extreme in August! I really want to run the WDW marathon next January and am training more for that than the 5K’s. I find the more I work and train, the better I feel and the more energy I have.
