  1. I made something similar to this with vegan chocolate shakeology, and it works great! I will try Heidi’s recipe with it next… No whey in the vegan shakeology…

    1. I have found a whey product at Costco called Gold Standard whey protein. I purchased the vanilla that contains only 2g carbohydrate and 24 G protein per serving. It comes in Choco, too, but not sure what the Choco carb and protein measures. I imagine it’s similar.

    1. Hi Sarah: It’s always best to discuss any dietary supplements with your healthcare team while pregnant. And congratulations! 🙂

  2. These sound great! I’ve been wondering – is it okay to give kids whey protein? Not sure why I’m unsure. Maybe bc it’s a supplement? I’ve hesitated sharing my smoothie with protein with my daughter because I didn’t know if there were any drawbacks…

    1. Hi Heather: It?s always best to discuss any dietary supplements for kids with their healthcare teams first. Heidi?s doctor okayed a whey based protein powder for her kids.

    1. Hi Bea: It’s always best to chat with your kids’ healthcare team about any dietary supplements and then follow their recommendations.

    1. Hi Teresa: I’m so sorry, but I don’t have any vegetable or rice based protein powders to recommend.

    2. Orgain Organic Protein ? Powder is a revolutionary new product that is being hailed as the “best tasting and smoothest” protein powder on the market. With 21 grams of USDA certified organic plant based protein derived from organic brown rice, chia, hemp and pea protein, 5 grams of organic fiber and only 3g of net carbs ? Orgain has set a new gold standard in powdered nutrition.

    1. Hi Ginny: I’ve only used whey based protein powders, but you could give casein protein powder a try (maybe make a smaller recipe to see).

  3. These look delicious!

Could the Whey protein be replaced with a plant based protein like Orgain?

    Thank you so much!
