Feeling Tired? Top 5 Tips to Naturally Boost Your Energy Levels

Global pandemic or not, staying energized throughout the day is often a tiring task. 😉 People always tell me they’re amazed at how much energy I have, and it always makes me laugh. I’m like, who, me?! Being a wife, mom, chauffeur, and business owner (just to name a few) has me feeling like I need a coffee IV stat (plus a marshmallow dream bar wouldn’t hurt either).

But if there’s one thing I’ve learned over the years, it’s that there are a few ways to ease that midday slump, exhausted, just can’t do it anymore feeling and get your energy levels soaring in no time. I’m breaking down my top five ways below!

1. Work Out

Seems kinda’ silly, I know. When we’re tired, often, the last thing we want to do is get up and move, right? But I promise you that exercise actually gives us MORE energy. It’s science, guys. Exercise raises our endorphins, and endorphins make us happy. Ha! But in addition to making us happy, they also raise our energy levels. Exercise gets our heart rate up, which gets the blood pumping through our bodies, ultimately strengthening our hearts and giving us more stamina and endurance to power through not only a killer workout, but our day, our chores, our business meetings, our kids’ soccer games, our favorite Netflix shows…and the list goes on and on. And on. When we exercise more, we even start to sleep better at night. Getting a better night’s sleep leads to feeling rested in the morning (duh) and can set the tone for our entire day. Which leads me to my next tip:

2. Get More Sleep

It sounds like a no brainer, but think about it for a minute. How often do you really get a full 8 hours of ZZZs every night? You are probably like me: You have good intentions of going to bed early, but something always comes up. Your kiddos need their fifth drink of water, trip to the bathroom, extra hug…kids are so creative when it comes to bedtime + excuses! And then before you know it, you find yourself mindlessly scrolling social media or going back through emails and your mental to-do list for the next day. Guys, enough! Make it a habit to set your phones down before you go to bed and keep them there! And no picking them up until that alarm clock goes off the next morning.

3. Reduce Stress

If I had a magical wand, I would wave away all the stresses in the world. It’s sometimes easier said than done, but eliminating our stress can do SO MUCH GOOD for our mental health, including our energy levels. When we’re constantly worrying about something, it can affect us both mentally and physically. And the result is often an overwhelming feeling of exhaustion we just can’t shake. Do whatever you can to find ways to relieve stress. Work out! 😉 Go for a walk, meditate, pray, or even just step outside for a few minutes and take a few deep breaths. Whatever it is, find your outlet and don’t let go.

4. Drink Water + Stay Hydrated

There are far too many people walking around this world dehydrated, and they don’t even know it. Your brain thrives on hydration, and being dehydrated will reduce your motivation and increase fatigue.

Studies show that even mild dehydration (1-3% of body weight) can negatively impact brain function.

What that means is if you’re feeling tired, there is actually a magic pill…kind of…. It’s a nice, big, tall glass of H2O! The general rule of thumb is to drink at least half your body weight in ounces of water each day. At least! Water has SO many natural health benefits, including flushing out the excess toxins in your body, reducing water retention and unwanted bloating, keeping your skin looking and feeling youthful, and giving you that natural energy!

5. Call in Reinforcements

Sometimes we need to utilize a lifeline and phone a friend, right? Boost Shots are great at giving you a natural BOOST of energy without that jittery feeling we all hate. They’re also so delicious that they have a sneaky little way of helping you drink more water (see my top water tips above or click here).

Wondering what Boost Shot is or if you should try it? Boost Shot is a healthy alternative to sodas, sports drinks, and all those energy drinks that are filled with sugars and additives. After all, eating healthy is another great way to boost your energy. Grabbing a Boost Shot is a two for one: You’re hydrating AND you’re removing less than stellar ingredients from your diet. Boost is a unique, “no-crash” caffeine blend that’s also full of B-vitamins so you keep those energy levels up without the afternoon crash so many of us know all too well.

You guys, remember that not every day will be perfect, and while we may lack sleep some nights, we can certainly make the most out of what we have to keep it going with top energy levels. These are just a handful of tips you can do during your day. What are the ways you stay energized throughout the day?!
