Meet the Powell Pack – Episode 4: Blank Pages

Maybe I should have re-watched this episode before signing on for a 3rd book, one that I?m co- authoring?! Kidding! Although the process of writing can be so difficult and time consuming, I know that for Chris and me it has proven to be one of the most rewarding experiences we?ve had. It’s hard to pass up an opportunity to share our newly evolving techniques and programs, so we keep writing them anyway! Plenty of blood, sweat, and tears have gone into each book, but it?s that passion that has made each of the books what they are. Check out the video below to see just how Chris (and me too!) struggled through the creative process of writing his 2nd book, Choose More, Lose More For Life.

Although our newest book isn?t out yet (on stands December 22, 2015) you can pre-order Extreme Transformation: Lifelong Weight Loss in 21 Days?on Amazon. You can also find Chris? first book, Choose to Lose: The 7-day Carb Cycle Solution, on Amazon here.

  2. Hi,

I don’t know how or where to start with the my reaction to your videos. First, let me express how much I respect and adore your TV show. Your show is the one of the very few shows that my husband and I enjoy watching together. In fact, I don’t know any show that my husband records and on a saturday night says ” we haven’t watched this week’s Extreme Weight Loss”. the reason we love your show is because we are both athletic and appreciate how hard work and dedication pays off in life and the respect we have for people who make a difference in their lives. When someone goes from a position of weakness to a position of strength, nothing is more beautiful.
that said, we completely love your show because you do that for people who need that boost. I myself ended up gaining a lot of weight. Similar to Cassandra who was an amazing athlete, I too had my athletic achievements but when moving to NYC to pursue a life in advertising, my focus on my career caused me to gain 200+ pounds. I ended up losing most and to make a long story short became an Ironman Athlete. My husband was a huge part of my transition. One thing led to another and I started my own Digital marketing agency. That’s where when watching your videos I feel like I can relate so much. I pour myself into my business 24/7. I struggle everyday to find time for me and my husband to have “our time” together.
While watching your videos, I could not help but relate to the difficulties you are having with finding quality time together. It’s so ironic because just as much as you place importance on your peeps in creating that healthy balance, so do you need to with your marriage. I know this may sounds so cheesy but you HAVE to create the time to spend with each other while life is hectic. I’m a business women and I know how clients who are paying the bills make you feel you have to work those holidays and weekends all the while wanting to work those days because you love what you do and have made commitments. But at the end of the day, taking that one day off to be with each other won’t affect the bottom line or affect the business. You both are building a brand and the I”m sure the tables are turning. The networks need you more than you need them so don’t fall into the trap of feeling like you can’t say today or for this long weekend, I’m not available.
I’m sure I’m making a lot of assumptions here but in seeing your videos, I can’t help to see and think what I hear and are watching. you both are so adorable and made for each other. I figured why not give my 2 cents. I’m 39 and have been with my husband for nearly 20 years. at the end of the day your family is priority.
Good luck. I’m looking forward to the new season and sorry this note was soo long!!

  3. I just got my book in yesterday, and it’s already making a difference In my life. My obesity definitely stems from very deep emotional place and I realized that yesterday. When I got to the first set of questions that i had to ask myself, about things like achievements and people you’ve helped, I literally couldn’t answer one. I realized right then and there how alone, depressed and dissapointed i am. I broke down and cried but realized that its time to make change and finally start believing in myself. It’s time to take that first step and make a transformation. Thank you to the both of you. You guys are truly and inspiration!

  4. This episode makes me want to read the book! Poor Chris, glad he made it through, it had to be mentally exhausting to do everything he’s doing for others, have your family, and write this, I can imagine there were a lot of nights staring at a computer. Glad he made it through!
