  1. What is the shelf life of this? I always see recipes for this but never when it goes bad and that’s important (at least to me)

    1. Hi Jeff: It would be similar to the expiration date on the container of Greek yogurt you use. Although, it probably won’t last that long – it’s amazing!

  2. I have been trying to lose weight and looking for things I love to eat but ways to eat it in a much healthier way and I love adding ranch to things and this is great way to have it without having it. =) Thank you Heidi for what and Chris do, you have changed so many lives and ones you never even met. And I’m one of them,I know this is just words on a comment but for my life it’s much more so thank you again for everything you guys do. <3

  3. Hi Heidi! I was wondering if you have any go to travel snacks? The majority of my work is out of town, so I try to pack airplane friendly snacks. I also spend long days sitting in a TV truck with limited availability for meals or snacks, so I try to bring snacks with me for during the day, but it’s hard to keep parishables fresh throughout the day. My go-to’s are protein bars, but I don’t want to rely too heavily on those for so many days. Any suggestions would be much appreciated! Thanks!

    1. Hi Tracey: Here are some ideas: Protein powder, fruits, veggies, popcorn, protein bars (like you already do), and nuts. Hope that helps!

  4. Just tried this recipe and loved it but next time I will only use a squeeze of lemon because I feel it was too much lemon juice. It’s great! Thanks

  5. I’ve been using this recipe for years (I too am a ranch fanatic) however I like to add fresh parsley and chives to it. It gives it a punch of freshness. Sometimes I also like to thin it with water or skim milk as Greek yogurt tends to be so thick.

  6. Hi Heidi!
I’m just wondering, what makes Greek yogurt so much healthier than sour cream? They are both dairy-based and both come in low and full-fat options. Thanks for your help. I’m one of those people that has to know the whys of everything. 🙂

    1. Great question! Non-fat plain Greek yogurt has much more protein, less carbs, and less calories ounce per ounce than non-fat sour cream.

    2. I wondered this too.

I compared full fat Fage yogurt (11 grams of fat per US cup, which is 16 tablespoons ? .6875 grams of fat per tablespoon, 13.125 calories a tablespoon) to Daisy sour cream, which is 26.25 calories, 2.4 grams of fat in JUST ONE MEASLY tablespoon. Who eats a tablespoon of dip and stops?

And that?s the full fat yogurt in comparison!!

2% Fage has 10 calories per tablespoon, .28125 grams of fat per tablespoon.

0% Fage has 7.5 calories per tablespoon, so less than a third of Daisy sour cream ? and zero fat grams. Plus all the protein, calcium, and other nutrients to boot!

  7. I have a question, sorry because its off topic.
You have a reward day in tarbo carb cycling , but what dose it means?
I usually eat approximately 1500 cal…can i eat more in reward day? and if i can then what would ve the reward food? carb? or protin?
    Thanks 🙂

    1. On your weekly reward day, you can eat anything you’d like to up to an extra 1000 calories (2500 for the day). 🙂

    2. 1000!!! i like you so much heidi and chris powelll..

Thanks for letting us choose more and lose more 😀
