What’s in Our Fridge

Alright guys, moment of truth… I secretly love taking a peek in other people’s fridges! Bonus tip: meal prep often leaves you with an organized fridge. With all of the recipes, suggested meals, shopping list, and tips in the TRANSFORM app to help guide your nutrition, we thought we might show you this added bonus. Who doesn’t love a little more organization? With that in mind, I thought some of YOU may be curious as to what our fridge looks like too!!

We put together a fun, quick video showcasing some of our tried-and-true clean eating tricks, as well as what foods we always have on hand. I am allergic to all nuts and beef, what substitutes can I use, for example, I can’t drink nut milk?

    • Angela Teodorczy - June 17, 2017

BTW…I bought your book today and it looks like this will finally work for me, yay.

    • Team Powell - June 19, 2017

Hi Angela: If you’re allergic to nuts, then I’d use water for your protein shakes and skim milk on things like cereal. You could eat chicken or pork in place of any beef products too. 🙂

Great, thank you for your reply.

Please share info on your “liquid gold” drink!!

  3. Veronica - April 26, 2017

Hi Love the the article of what’s in your fridge what is the sweetener you add to water if you can say please.

  4. Jennie - June 1, 2016

What is the recommendation for using coconut milk rather than almond milk? I’ve read that the store bought almond milk is more water than actual almond milk.

    • Team Powell - June 1, 2016

Hi Jennie: Coconut milk is not recommended due to the high calorie count and fat per serving. For example, a cup of lite coconut milk has around 180 calories and 16 grams of fat, while a cup of unsweetened almond milk has around 30 calories and 2.5 grams of fat. Hope that helps!

    • Jennie - June 3, 2016

The coconut milk I buy shows only 45cal and 4g fat per 8oz serving (has organic coconut cream and coconut water). It’s organic and unsweetened. It’s a little more than almond milk but does provide a creamier taste to the shakes. Maybe you were thinking of the canned version?

    • Team Powell - June 3, 2016

Lol. Yes, I was. This should be fine then! 🙂

You guys are THE cutest couple!

    Hi Heidi Powell Team!

Heidi is always offering advice and tips for other people and I just heard in the video she has some kidney issues so I thought I would let her know of what I use.

I was getting UTIs and kidney infections monthly so I finally saw a specialist and she recommended Ellura. It’s a cranberry supplement that has changed my life. I no longer get infections and don’t have to drink gallons of juice.

If Heidi is ever looking for something new she can try them! 🙂

*FYI: This is 100% my own opinion and I am not sponsored by any company or doctor.

I LOVE the tip about pre washing, cutting and storing fruits and veggies! We throw away produce too often and I love the convenience and clutter free look!

  8. Vanessa - September 28, 2015

Loved this!! I was hoping for an update to the last blog you did on your fridge. I’m also very curious about the water flavorings you guys use.

  9. Rachel B - September 17, 2015

I wish I was rich enough to afford a fridge that huge. Their fridge is the size of my fridge and freezer combined.

    • Cory - October 6, 2015

The fridge Chris has in the closet is what I have in my kitchen…. it works just fine for us.

  10. Rachel B. - September 16, 2015

Would love to know what stevia sweetened flavor you add to your water!!! Please share!

  11. Kelly - September 16, 2015

So you and Chris still support Vemma drinks?

    • Cody Maloney - October 1, 2015

Why wouldn’t they? Nothing better on the market. Vemma isn’t going anywhere 😉

  12. Lisa - September 16, 2015

I’ve heard you mention the water flavorings before. Can you tell me which ones you use?

    Thanks,
    Lisa

  13. Linda Sagarnaga - September 16, 2015

Thanks Heidi for sharing and definitely learned some tips I can start using with my family… Going to look into that liquid gold too ?

  14. Shannon - September 16, 2015

what is the link to buy the liquid gold? Bod -e??

  15. Mary P - September 16, 2015

I love the idea of storing everything in containers – it made it look so clutter free!! BUT – am I the only one that had an anxiety attack because the fridge door was opened that long?! ?

  16. Karla - September 16, 2015

    You guys are too cute!!!
Heidi, do you ever use soy milk?
I’m not a big fan of almond milk.
    Is almond better than soy?

    Karla

    • Team Powell - September 16, 2015

Chris and Heidi really like unsweetened almond milk, but you can totally use unsweetened soy milk too! Cup for cup, soy has about 80 calories and almond milk has about 30 calories (depending on which brand you buy), so keep that in mind.

  17. Heather - September 16, 2015

It was fun to see what is in your fridge, but what I loooooved is your closet!! I have a big walk in closet, although not THAT big lol, filled with shoes cuz I have have a shoe passion (sounds nicer than obsession ?) Looks like you might too, haha! Your closet is gorgeous, girl!!! 🙂

  18. Jen - September 16, 2015

Great inspiration to keep the fruits and veggies ready and cut up. You do have liquid gold there – I miss my Verve!

  19. Lauren - September 16, 2015

Was that wine/champagne on the top shelf?! I would have LOVE to see you acknowledge that in the video! My evening (though not every evening) glass is one of my few remaining vices that I kind of refuse to give up, so I’d love to learn more from you about how/if you are able to incorporate that indulgence into your life!

  20. Christine - September 16, 2015

LOVE the Walden Farms Dressings….but you didnt even mention them. No calorie dressings that are more flavourful than many of the high calorie ones in my opinion. Glad I’m not the only one ?

  21. Kate Daniels - September 16, 2015

Omg!!! I am so happy to see you have butter spray in your fridge!! (And your fridge is BEAUTIFULLY organized–i love it!!) Thank you for sharing!

  22. Brenda Brandt - September 16, 2015

Very cool to have a peek in your refrigerator! I wish the Bod-e was sweetened with Stevia!!! I would totally drink them. I do love the vemma and verve products, though.

  23. Doreen - September 16, 2015

your home is gorgeous. Can I move in?? 🙂

  24. Jolene - September 16, 2015

I wish I could have seen the fridge before you’d cleaned and organized it…something about being super transparent that I love!

I have seven children so we go through a bunch of food. I follow the carb-cycling lifestyle and I have a really cool caddy that I got super cheap that I fill with my hard-boiled eggs, string cheese, pre-measured plain greek yogurt, almonds, etc. So I can just grab my food and go! Also, the kids never have to wonder if they can eat something that I might have planned for my meals. I’ve got a blogpost coming on low-carb life hacks…I’ll try to finish that up soon!

  25. Tak - September 16, 2015

This is great! Liquid GOLD! Thanks for all you do Heidi and Chris!

  26. Sharon - September 16, 2015

Love this! And I have a small obsession with seeing what’s in peoples fridges too! Glad to know I’m not alone.

  27. Whitney Padilla - September 16, 2015

Thank you for sharing your life with us, Heidi. You are such an inspiration and a wonderful role model to women everywhere. As a working mom of 2, I struggle with what to feed my kids when we are in a hurry. This was super helpful to see what your kids can grab and go. Thank you for opening up your life, and your fridge, to us. <3

  28. April - September 16, 2015

Hey Heidi! That is for sure not Tupperware! 🙂 If you need some Tupperware, contact me! Love that you shared your fridge with us and gave us some helpful tips along the way!

  29. Dana - September 16, 2015

greay video. Were those Walden Farms dressings/Sauces? I use those all the time for the zero carbs. Great stuff

  30. Miriam - September 16, 2015

that’s far the biggest fridge I ever saw ! mine is so little you would not believe to your eyes! 😉

  31. Denise - September 16, 2015

So cool to sneak a peek at what you eat on a daily basis.

I had no idea you have kidney issued. I have chronic kidney disease and although I feel fine, I am always weary of all the protein most diets require to build muscle. I would love to see a post about your kidney issues and how you would tailor diet/food choices for this with impaired kidney function.
