Funfetti Mug Cake Recipe for Marley’s Big 12!

Can someone please, please, PLEASE, tell me how the little girl who promised me she would never grow up is now turning 12 years old?! I can’t handle it. My baby girl is no longer a baby?she’s ?practically a TEENAGER! Cue the waterworks. In all seriousness, as much as it pains me to see Miss Mars grow up, there is absolutely nothing better as a mother than to see your little girl transform into a beautiful, intelligent, thoughtful, young woman. She truly is everything I have ever?dreamt of in a daughter and so, so, much more.

While the real Celebration de Marley happened a few weeks ago during our mama + daughter staycation, we, of course, have to honor her on her actual birthday this weekend! And what better way to celebrate our favorite little lady than the Powell Pack’s new favorite treat?! As much as I love a big ol’ birthday cake, we have been absolutely OBSESSING over individual mug cakes lately. With a family of six, each with different taste buds and preferences, being able to make six different flavors of cake in just a few minutes has been an absolute lifesaver. Truly, every single person in our family is crazy about these mug cakes, and for good reason! They’re as easy to make as they are delicious to eat!

While I have MORE of these mug cake/cake cup recipes than I want to admit, today I’ll stick to sharing the one that honors my girl’s big day! Down the road, I’ll be sharing ALL of the delicious recipes with you all…I promise!

Although we have plenty of reasons to celebrate and chow down on some sugary sweets this weekend, Chris and I are both firm believers that you absolutely do not?need a reason to enjoy cake. Eating a huge slab of cake or a heaping bowl of ice cream every night before bed might not be the best idea in the world, but the occasional indulgence is not only okay, but a MUST for long-term plan sustainability! Don’t be afraid to satisfy that sweet tooth now and again. It’s all about balance, friends. Does the?80/20 rule ring a bell for anyone?!

Depriving yourself of the treats you love is only going to lead to long-term resentment toward your healthy behaviors, making it that much more difficult to commit to a lifestyle change for long-term sustainability. Being able to understand balance, and how to account for the foods we are eating so that we?can indulge every now and then, is truly what it means to find your ultimate freedom with food.

So having said all of that, I have found the most delicious little one serving mug cake recipe that will satisfy that sweet tooth craving without breaking your calorie bank at just 216 cals! And if you’re a member of our The TRANSFORM App family, just add your favorite protein shake on the side to turn any of this into a breakfast?(on ANY day in our plan) or a?reward meal.
